What is almost the only thing we can be certain of in our changeable times? In religion? In politics? In people’s common sense? In individual countries, alliances? In people’s opinions? In artificial intelligence? In the “victory of good” ultimately?
We would like to think so. But if we set aside all the tinsel and look at things exclusively from the standpoint of facts, the only thing we can be certain of (until proven otherwise) is the laws of this world, the laws of nature, according to which everything happens and everything interacts. In science, they are called the laws of natural science, or their unconditional basis on which everything is founded—the laws of physics and chemistry. Where does this certainty come from?
Look around you: everything that surrounds you, billions of devices, countless micro- and macro-objects, everything you wear, what you live in, what you drive, what you interact with, what you eat—absolutely everything obeys immutable scientific laws. Every particle of us, ourselves, and absolutely all objects in the world are completely under the power of these laws. And yet these laws, unlike human laws, note, are absolutely independent of anyone’s opinion, understanding or lack of understanding of them. One could say that they stand guard over our reality: everything was, is, and will happen only according to them.
But this does not mean our helplessness, far from it: we can change our reality, our environment, our planet by understanding and using these laws. For good and for the benefit of all. A clear example is medicine over the past 150 years: hundreds of diseases have been conquered, average human life expectancy has increased significantly in virtually all countries, revolutionary research and breakthroughs are happening right before our eyes, making life easier for many people.
Therefore, we have good reason to believe that the root (foundation) of solving all humanity’s problems lies in a deep understanding and correct use of accumulated scientific knowledge. As we will show further, our planet is simply oversaturated with all the necessary resources and energy for billions of people to live happily on it and for successful subsequent colonization of other worlds.
